Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Iran.

Talking to Iranian Interior Minister Abdolereza Rehmani Fazli in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the two countries are bound by ties of religion, culture, history and geography.            

The Prime Minister said he looks forward to his forthcoming visit to Iran and meeting with President Rouhani.     

Addressing a joint news conference with his Pakistani counterpart Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Iranian Interior Minister said he had very fruitful meetings with Pakistani leadership. 

He said he has come to Pakistan with a message of peace and cooperation. He expressed the hope that relations between Pakistan and Iran will further strengthen with the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Iran.
