PORT:

The Government is taking concrete steps to improve the overall trade volume on Ports of the country. 

 

According to official sources, Deep Water Container Port has been established having a capacity to handle 3.1 Million containers including transshipment containers.

 

A ten years Business Development Plan is also under process for the Karachi Port Trust with an aim to achieve efficiency and productivity as per international and regional benchmarks.         

 

MARINE:

The Government is making all out efforts to address the environmental issues related to marine pollution.

 

According to official sources, Marine Pollution Control Department has been established by the Karachi Port Trust for monitoring and managing the oil piers.

 

Focus will be particularly laid on creating awareness and building capacity of Port staff regarding the environmental issues.                                          

 

SESSIONS:

The Senate and National Assembly meet in Islamabad on Monday at three and four in the afternoon respectively.

 

Both the Houses will discuss important national issues besides transacting legislative business.

 

BUS STAND:

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to purchase nine hundred kanals of land for establishment of new bus terminal in Peshawar.

 

Official sources told Radio Pakistan correspondent that besides general transport, one hundred and ten kanals land will be utilized for Rapid Bus Transport Service.

 

Initially, seven hundred million rupees have been released for purchase of land.

 

SUSPECTS:

Twenty-nine suspects were arrested during search operations in different parts of the country on Sunday.

 

Twenty-two suspects were arrested in Peshawar four in Sahiwal and three in Karachi.

 

Arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

    

NCAC:

Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada says the PSL Final in Lahore on Sunday is the victory of government`s resolve against extremism and terrorism.

 

He was talking to News and Current Affairs Channel of Radio Pakistan on Sunday. 

 

He said the successful conduct of the event will give a new impetus to the sports and cultural activities in the country.

 

Talking in the program, Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman said foolproof security arrangements have been made for the mega event. 

           

MATCH:

All necessary administrative and security measures have been finalized for the final of second edition of the Pakistan Super League being played at Qaddafi stadium Lahore tonight.

 

Quetta Gladiators will face Peshawar Zalmi in the final.

 

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a surprise visit to Qaddafi Stadium and its surrounding areas, expressed satisfaction on security measures.

               

Quetta Gladiators include South African player Morne Van Wyk, Inam ul Haq of Bangladesh, West Indian cricketer Rayad Emrit, Elton Chigumbura and Sean Michael Ervine of Zimbabwe while Darren Sammy of West Indies, England's Chris Jordan, West Indian Marlon Samuels will play from Peshawar Zalmi.

 

KASHMIR:

In Occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth and injured many during a military operation in Tral area of Pulwama district on Sunday.

 

Large number of People flouting curfew and other restrictions staged a protest against the killing of the youth. 

 

Earlier, an Indian army Major, two soldiers and a CRPF trooper were wounded during the operation on Saturday night.

      

SYRIA:

Syrian army has expanded its control over former Islamic State-held villages gaining more territory in Aleppo province.

 

Meanwhile, forty militants and ten civilians have been killed in Russian airstrike at the training camp in the eastern Hama countryside.

     

AFGHANISTAN:

In Afghanistan, two security personnel were killed in separate bomb blasts in northern Faryab province on Sunday.

 

Almar district police chief was killed in a car bomb blast, while a local security forces commander was killed in an attack at a police checkpoint.
