Twenty-one civilians have been killed in US-led coalition air strikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria in recent months.

A statement from the coalition said investigators had probed a series of reports alleging civilian deaths from air strikes.

It added that 220 civilians were unintentionally killed since operations to defeat IS began in 2014.

However, a monitoring group Airwars has put the number of civilians killed by coalition airtrikes to 2,463.
