The conference will be held in Astana during which Pakistan will be given full membership of SCO. Terrorism is the biggest challenge and Pakistan is victim of this menace. Elimination of terrorism from the country is our national challenge.PM to leave for Astana on June 7. PM likely to hold an important meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the sidelines of the conference on June 9. Important feature of the SCO is that the summit coincides with an international exhibition at Astana, with the theme of sustainable energy. More than 40 countries are participating. Pakistan has been an observer state of the SCO since 2005.

Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria says the upcoming SCO Summit will provide Pakistan a forum to effectively implement its agenda of regional connectivity.He said the summit is a milestone in Pakistan`s foreign policy as the country will get full membership of the Organization.He said the summit will provide an opportunity to member countries to enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation.Nafees Zakaria said Pakistan is looking forward to strengthening its ties with all member countries of SCO.
