NAWAZ-RAHMON

Pakistan and Tajikistan have expressed their resolve to multiply efforts to increase their bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

 

The understanding came during talks between the two leaders in Dushanbe on Wednesday.

 

In their joint press stake out afterwards, the two leaders expressed their common desire to take bilateral relationship to new heights.

 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the two sides expressed satisfaction over pace of cooperation in economy, investment, trade, commerce, energy, defence production and industry. They noted with satisfaction that work on the crucial project of CASA-1000 was progressing smoothly.

 

The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that more business and trade opportunities would be explored by the two sides during meeting of the Joint Business Council.

 

He announced opening of Commercial Section in Pakistan Embassy in Dushanbe to boost bilateral trade.

 

He said the two countries have decided to strengthen their cooperation at international and regional forums including UN and ECO.

 

The Prime Minister said during talks the two sides also expressed satisfaction over bilateral defence and security cooperation. He said the first meeting of Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Working Group on countering terrorism would meet this month in Dushanbe.

 

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan are based on the principles of sovereign equality and respect for each other.  He said the two countries are desirous of peace and stability, which is necessary for progress and development.                              

 

PM:

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan wants to maintain good relations with all its neighbours.

 

He was talking to Tajik President Emamali Rehmon during a one on one meeting in Doshanbe on Wednesday.

 

The Prime Minister said Pakistan desires peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues including Jammu and Kashmir dispute with India.

 

He said India has escalated tension on Line of Control and Indian forces have violated ceasefire agreement repeatedly.

 

The Prime Minister said CASA-1000 project is a milestone of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

 

He said we want to enhance relations with Doshanbe in diverse fields.

     

The Prime Minister said Pakistan wants to expand its cooperation with Tajikistan in all fields. He said there are bright prospects of expanding bilateral relationship on multiple fronts.

 

Mian Nawaz Sharif said it is desire of Pakistan to increase bilateral trade with Tajikistan to five hundred million dollars annually. He pointed out that the two countries are cooperating with each other in realizing this objective. Pakistan organized three trade exhibitions in Dushanbe in 2015 and arranged Business Forum in Tajikistan this year. He said Pakistan wants Tajikistan to organize trade fairs in Pakistan.

 

The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would strengthen connectivity in the region. He said Pakistan's entire infrastructure including Gwadar Port, roads and rail network is available for Tajikistan.

 

He said defence and law enforcing institutions of Pakistan and Tajikistan are working together for elimination of the menace of terrorism.

 

Mian Nawaz Sharif offered training opportunities to the personnel of armed forces of Tajikistan.                     

 

AGREEMENT:

Pakistan and Tajikistan signed two agreements in Dushanbe on Wednesday for strengthening cooperation in agriculture and trade.

 

The ceremony was also witnessed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.                   

 

MARYAM:

Maryam Nawaz recorded her statement before the joint investigation team probing Panama Papers case.

 

Talking to the media persons outside the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad, Maryam Nawaz said she responded all questions of the JIT.

 

Maryam Nawaz said it is a matter of pride for the PML (N) and its supporters that there is no charges of corruption, commission and kicbacks against the Prime Minister and the government.

 

She said their opponents have only targeted the family's business affairs. 

 

She said the people facing allegations of embezzlement in public money are hiding behind stay orders. She wondered why do the people who have no sources of income and business are not being interrogated.

 

Maryam Nawaz said she fully understands as to why she is being involved repeatedly in different leaks. She said by involving the name of the daughter, the opponents want to bring the Prime Minister under pressure. She however said the opponents should not remain in any misunderstanding as she will prove to be a source of power for his father. She said she is the daughter of the person who has taught her to stand firm against any oppression. 

 

She said that we appeared before JIT for rule of law and supremacy of the constitution in the country.

 

She warned the opponents to stop hatching conspiracies against the prime minister as by doing so he will return to the power with much more backing of the people.

 

She said the Prime Minister is standing firm for the supremacy of constitution and civilian set up. She was confident that the PML (N) will again win the 2018 general elections.                        

 

AURANGZEB:

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has clarified that official protocol was not given to Maryam Nawaz during her visit to the federal judicial academy.

 

Reacting to the tweet of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, she said Maryam Nawaz reached the site on the private vehicles of the family.

 

The Minister said Imran Khan should explain as under which capacity he uses the helicopter of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said Imran Khan should also explain as to why he is escaping the courts.

                    

MURAD:

Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said ninety billion rupees will be spent for improvement of law and order situation in the province during the current fiscal year.

 

Addressing a conference he said the Sindh government facilitated Sindh Rangers and increased their monetary benefits.   

 

He said we have prepared a law to curb corruption in the province.       

 

KARNAL SHER

The 18th Martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan is being observed on Wednesday.

 

Captain Karnal Sher Khan emerged as the symbol of mettle and courage during the Kargil conflict on the Line of Control. He set personal examples of bravery and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy.

He embraced shahadat on 5th July 1999 and was awarded Nishan-e-Haider.          

 

COMPUTERS:

Pakistan has provided 17 computers and relevant equipment to Pakistan Computer centre at All Ceylon Young Men's Muslim Association in Colombo.

 

The initiative is aimed to augment younger generation's skills building with better educational opportunities.

 

CHINA-INDIA

China has accused India of using its relations with Bhutan as an excuse to violate China's territory.

 

In a statement the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said that China firmly opposes India's attempt to justify its trespass on and invasion of China's territory under the pretext of upholding Bhutan's interests.

 

He said China believes in equality among countries, but India sees itself as a dominant country in the region, and others its vassals.

                      

MONSOON

A moderate monsoon spell is likely to lash different parts of the country including Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the next twenty four hours.

 

A spokesperson of met office told our correspondent that Karachi is also expected to receive light rain during this spell.

 

The spokesperson said a new monsoon spell is also starting from next week which is expected to be more strong.
