Prime Minister has arrived in Dushanbe on a two-day official visit for talk with Tajik leaders.

Chitral-Shandor Road is being widened at a cost of fifteen billion rupees.

A moderate monsoon spell is likely to hit different parts of the country in the next twenty four hours.



Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has arrived at Doshanbe on a two-day official visit to Tajikistan.

Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda received the Prime Minister at the airport.

Formal welcoming ceremony was held at Palace of Nation where President Imamali Rehmon greeted the Prime Minister. A smartly turned contingent Tajik armed forces presented guard of honour to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who took the salute and inspected the guard of honour.

National anthems of the two countries were also played. The host introduced the reception line to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.  Members of the Prime Minister's entourage were also introduced to the Tajik President.

A high level delegation including Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Khurram Dastgir and high officials is also accompanying the Prime Minister.

During the visit, leaders of the two countries will discuss bilateral relations in diverse fields and also exchange views on regional and international issues.

Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy identical views on regional and international issues and both countries cooperate with each other on international fora.   



Marriyum Nawaz is recording her statement before JIT   probing Panama Papers case.

Earlier, on arrival at Federal Judicial Academy, she was accompanied by Hussain Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz, Captain Safdar and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Marriyum Nawaz waived at the party supporters when she arrived at the judicial academy.

A large number of party leaders and workers have also gathered close to the judicial academy to express solidarity with Marriyum Nawaz. 

On the occasion, strict security arragements have been put in place.



Talking to the media persons outside the Federal Judicial Academy, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman said Marriyum Nawaz is daughter of the nation.

She said Marriyum Nawaz will respond to all the queries of JIT.



Talking to the media persons outside the federal judicial academy in Islamabad, Parliamentary Secretary for Information Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha said there are no corruption cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said despite this, he and his family members are appearing before the JIT for rule of law in the country.



British High Commissioner in Pakistan Thomas Drew called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore today.

Matters of mutual interest, promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields were discussed during the meeting.

The senior British diplomat appreciated Punjab's progress in education, health and social sectors under Shahbaz Sharif's leadership.

Shahbaz Sharif said the government is completing development projects speedily for welfare of the people.



Survey for the widening and improvement of Chitral-Shandor Road is in progress.

Sources of National Highway Authority told our Peshawar correspondent 146 kilometers long road will be completed at a cost of fifteen billion rupees in three years.

Chitral-Shandor Road will be used as an alternate route in case the main CPEC route between Gilgit and Abbottabad is blocked due to land sliding.



China has accused India of using its relations with Bhutan as an excuse to violate China's territory.

In a statement the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said that China firmly opposes India's attempt to justify its trespass on and invasion of China's territory under the pretext of upholding Bhutan's interests.

He said China believes in equality among countries, but India sees itself as a dominant country in the region, and others its vassals.



A moderate monsoon spell is likely to lash different parts of the country including Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the next twenty four hours.

A spokesperson of met office told our correspondent that Karachi is also expected to receive light rain during this spell.

The spokesperson said a new monsoon spell is also starting from next week which is expected to be more strong.
