Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has said the National Ulema Mashaikh Council is imperative for holding peace and sectarian harmony in the country.

In an interview, he said the 54-member council is helping to forge unity among the people as it had representation from all sects across the country.     

The minister said the government had included teaching of the Holy Quran with translation in the syllabus of the country and the teachers concerned should fulfill their responsibly with dedication.   

Sardar Yousuf said that anti-state elements are trying to destabilize the country by involving in terrorist activities but they would not be succeeded in their nefarious designs.
