Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif held wide ranging talks with in the Tajik capital Dushanbe with President Emomali Rahmon. Two leaders inked the Joint Declaration aimed at enhancing regional connectivity between the two countries and the region at large. They emphasized close collaboration between Pakistan and Tajikistan both at the government and people level, besides giving a further boost to their bilateral relations.Pakistan and Tajikistan have signed two agreements in Dushanbe for strengthening cooperation in agriculture and trade.

Pakistan has successfully test-fired short-range surface to surface ballistic missile 'NASR'. According to ISPR, the missile has a range of 60 to 70 kilometers. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa witnessed the launch of the missile. NASR is a high precision weapon system with the ability of quick deployments. Speaking on the occasion, the army chief said war must be avoided at all costs and our strategic capability is a guarantee of peace against a highly militarised and increasingly belligerent neighbour. He said Pakistan will go to any length to ensure regional peace and stability.

Reacting to a tweet of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, she said Maryam Nawaz reached the site by family car.She said PTI chief should explain under which capacity he uses the helicopter of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He said Imran Khan should also explain why he is evading courts in different cases against him.

Earlier, NIA had arrested Shahid Islam, a close aide of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on trumped up charges of terror financing. He was chairing an inter-agencies meeting for floods mitigation in Islamabad . The Chairman asked Pakistan Commissioner for Indus Water to enhance coordination mechanism of early warning arrangements for release of water, especially from eastern rivers.
