Participants of Nuqta-e-Nazar program urge UN to play its role in resolving Kashmir dispute.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions is imperative for durable peace in the region.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s Nuqta-e-Nazar program, former Prime Minister, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider said: “Pakistani nation has been supporting Kashmiris cause since 1947. Every year Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed in Pakistan to support peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute. PM Nawaz Sharif has ensured that Pakistan will continue moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris. Every PM of Pakistan has supported the Kashmiri rights to self-determination. People of Kashmir are thankful to Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for visiting Kashmir today.”
Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani said: “India forces have been violating human right in India held Kashmir for the last 67 years. Many people have sacrificed their lives for sake of Independent Kashmir. People of Kashmir should be given the right of self-determination. Kashmiri people will fight for their rights until the solution of Kashmir dispute. The resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions is imperative for durable peace in the region”
Analyst Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema said: “India has realized that people of Kashmir would never use their right of self-determination in favour of India because India has been involved in cruel activities and violation of human rights in IOK. US will not play its role to resolve Kashmir dispute because it has strong bilateral relations with India. Peace in the region is imperative without the solution of Kashmir dispute. Kashmiris people have been fighting for their right till 1947 and will continue till the peaceful solution of this dispute. UN has not played its role in resolving Kashmir dispute so far.”
Federal Minister of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said: “Pakistan celebrates 5th Feb as Kashmir Solidarity Day to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir. PM has been highlighting Kashmir dispute at all international forum including OIC and United Nations. Seminars, rallies are held in different cities to express solidarity with Kashmiris. Issues could not be resolved through wars but could be resolved through dialogues.
UN should play role to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per its resolutions. International community should also play role to stop India from violating human rights in IOK. India does not want to resolve Kashmir dispute because it has been involved in martyr of millions of innocent Kashmiris. Media should also play its role in this regard and highlight the cruelty of India forces. Pakistan wants that right of self-determination should be given to people of Kashmir.”
