Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed across the country, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and by Pakistani expatriates today to remind the international community about its commitments regarding Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The people of Occupied Kashmir are also observing the day with the renewed pledge to continue their freedom movement.

It is a public holiday in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir today. The day dawned with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

One minutes silence will be observed at ten 10am today to honour Kashmiri martyrs.

Joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly and AJK Council will be held in Muzaffarabad to express complete solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the joint session.

Seminars and rallies would be held in different cities on the occasion. Human chains would be formed at various bridges connecting Azad Kashmir with Pakistan.

Radio Pakistan is broadcasting special programmes in connection with the day.
