Kashmir Solidarity Day observed across the country, AJK
Seminars, rallies were held in different cities to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed across the country, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and by Pakistani expatriates today to remind the international community about its commitments regarding Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
The people of Occupied Kashmir also observed the day with the renewed pledge to continue their freedom movement.
It was a public holiday in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The day dawned with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
One minutes silence was observed at ten 10am on Thursday [February 5] to honour Kashmiri martyrs.
Joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly and AJK Council was held in Muzaffarabad to express complete solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif addressed the joint session.
Meanwhile, seminars and rallies are being held in different cities to express solidarity with Kashmiris. Human chains are being formed at various bridges connecting Azad Kashmir with Pakistan to highlight strongest bomb between Pakistan and Kashmiri people.
A rally to express Solidarity with Kashmir was held in Islamabad.
Under the aegis of Muslim Institute the rally began from China-chowk and terminated at National Press Club, Islamabad.
People from different walks of life participated in the rally. They were holding banners and placards expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) organized a rally in Lahore in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day .
The speakers highlighted the Kashmir cause and measure taken by the PML (N) Government for solution of Kashmir issue.
In Peshawar, a rally was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to express solidarity with Kashmiris.
The participants also made human chain to express support for the struggle of the Kashmiri people to get their right to self-determination.
In Quetta, two separate rallies were held to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day .
Speakers on this occasion highlighted the struggle of Kashmiris against Indian forces' aggression.
Speakers at the Kashmir Solidarity Day in Gilgit urged world forums to play their role for the solution of Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolution.
Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi reaffirmed Pakistan's moral, political and diplomatic support for a just and peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute.
During a meeting to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day he called for peaceful settlement of the decades-old dispute under the UN resolutions.
The Consul General regretted that India has not reciprocated Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's desire to improve bilateral relations. The contrary, it intensified shelling along the Line of Control.
Other participants urged the world community to take serious notice of the plight of the Kashmiri people.
European Union Kashmir Council organized candle light vigil in Brussels to express solidarity with oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
On the occasion, the EU Kashmir Council Chairman, Ali Raza Syed and other speakers reiterated to continue to support the Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination.
In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have expressed gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day .
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference at a meeting chaired by Prof Abdul Ghani Butt in Srinagar hailed Pakistan for extending support to the cause of Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement also hailed the spirit of the people and the Government of Pakistan to show solidarity with the Kashmiris.
