Army sentences two retired generals in NLC case
Punishment was awarded by an Inquiry Committee established on the direction of COAS
Two retired Army Generals and one civilian officer have been punished under the Pakistan Army Act.
According to ISPR, they were found guilty of making incorrect decisions of investments in violation of NLC rules and regulations giving huge loss to national exchequer.
The punishment was awarded by an Inquiry Committee established on the direction of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
In the light of findings of the inquiry committee (Rtd) Major Gen (retired) Khalid Zahir Akhter and Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Muhammad Afzal Muzaffar were punished while the third accused Lt Gen (retired) Khalid Munir Khan has been exempted from all charges.
The ISPR further said that Army in line with its traditions would continue to maintain the highest standards of accountability, justice and fair-play.
