The United Nations has urged all parties in Syria to de-escalate the situation in the northwest of the country.

Speaking at briefing to newsmen, UN spokesman for UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric also reminds all parties of their obligations to protect civilians under international humanitarian law.
