Analysts lauds govt's efforts to overcome power shortage
They said country's economy will boost with continued utilizing available water and coal resources.
Analysts have hailed the Government`s move of utilizing the coal, solar and wind energy sources to overcome power shortage in the country.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan`s News and Current Affairs Channel, they said it is commendable that research and development in the country has reached a point where new sources for generating power are becoming commercially viable.
Energy expert and former Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Gulfaraz Ahmad said the pace of research in energy sector indicates that by 2020 the wind and solar energy will be cheap and easily accessible.
Taking part in the discussion economic expert Dr Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said the latest development in energy project will help augment the industrial activity in the country besides overcoming the power shortage.
He said economy of the country will boost in the long term only if we continue utilizing the available water and coal resources to generate electricity.
