Chairman Pakistan Super League Najam Sethi thanked the Prime Minister for his unflinching support to revive Pakistani cricket. He said that he was tasked to give a democratic constitution to the Pakistan Cricket Board, bring international best practices to the Pakistan cricket, and to revive international cricket in the country. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked Pakistan Cricket Board not to beg for any foreign team to come to Pakistan to play cricket with us. He said players are the real heroes and leaders of the country. He lauded the Pakistan cricket team for making the nation proud by winning the ICC Champions trophy. Nawaz Sharif resembled Pakistan's cricket team's past performance with the situation in Pakistan, when the country was plagued by terrorism and about to default in 2013. But, with the prudent policies of the government and resolve of the nation, backbone of terrorists have been broken, he said. The Prime Minister said economy of the country has been turned around, thousands of miles of roads and highways are being constructed across the country. He said it was government's untiring efforts that power plants are being completed in the country with at a fast pace to cope with electricity shortage.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has invited Chinese companies to expand and diversify investment in power sector by participating in the process of setting up transmission lines and local coal generation projects. He was talking to a Chinese delegation headed by Chairman National Energy Administration Nur Bekri in Islamabad on Tuesday. On bilateral relations, the Prime Minister stated that the exemplary relations between Pakistan and China are based on mutual respect and trust and that Pakistan wishes to explore all existing opportunities to further cement these relations. The Prime Minister said that both the countries are working for the prosperity of the people of the region through joint economic and development efforts.  He said Pakistan shares the Chinese vision of regional and global economic integration through strengthening connectivity. The Prime Minister emphasized that the present Government is committed to the efforts of improved regional connectivity and is extending its full cooperation for the early execution of the projects in the most effective manner.
