PM's visit to Tajikistan - Visit will further boost the bilateral cooperation in diverse fields with focus on trade, energy and regional connectivity

Leaders of the two countries would also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, with particular attention to Pakistan's policy of a peaceful neighbourhood.A Joint Declaration entitled "Road towards strategic partnership for regional solidarity" will be signed during the visit.The Prime Minister would be accompanied by a high level delegation and there would also be a meeting of Joint Business Council (JBC) to consider steps to enhance bilateral trade and commercial ties.Tajikistan is also hosting a Quadrilateral Summit of CASA-1000 member states of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.The  project aims at developing energy corridor and land connectivity between Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It will also provide electricity produced in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.A Trilateral Summit between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan is also scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the Prime Minister's visit to Tajikistan to hold discussions on regional topics of mutual interest.

CASA-1000 is a significant project to overcome the energy crisis in the country and present government’s efforts in this regard are impressive. Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan member states are participating in the summit which is being hosted by the Tajikistan. Security situation in Afghanistan is the major issue of this region. China is also supporting Pakistan to resolve the issues which Pakistan is facing this time. Any development in CASA-1000 will usher a new era of prosperity and development in the country.

Prime Minister invites Chinese companies to expand and diversify investment in power sector by participating in the process of setting up transmission lines and local coal generation projects.He was talking to a Chinese delegation headed by Chairman National Energy Administration Nur Bekri in Islamabad.The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is fully committed to the timely and effective implementation of all projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Nawaz Sharif said that the completion of Sahiwal Coal-based Power Plant in record time will greatly help the government of Pakistan in resolving the power shortages from the country.'
