Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq says Pakistan has been pursuing a zero-tolerance policy towards illicit drugs.

He was addressing International Conference of Parliamentarians against Drugs in Moscow on Monday.

The Speaker reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to continue to play an increasingly constructive role in global efforts to counter this menace.

He said Pakistan is promoting regional cooperation to counter illicit drugs.

The Speaker said illicit drugs are a common challenge and parliamentarians have a critical role to play in the fight against drugs through awareness and legislation.

He emphasized for enhanced efforts to strengthen across the entire spectrum of law enforcement, criminal justice, health, education and social development.
