The number of coronavirus infection across the world has surpassed eleven million while the pandemic has so far claimed over five hundred thousand lives. The tallies, using data collected by AFP and information from the World Health Organization probably reflect only a fraction of the actual number of infections.

Many countries are testing only symptomatic or the most serious cases.

The United States is the worst-hit country with 129,437 deaths from over two point seven million cases.
