Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the government is not only focusing on power generation but also trying to ensure provision of cheaper electricity to the people. Addressing an inaugural ceremony of 40-megawatt coal-based power plant in Faisalabad on Saturday, he said the government is striving to bring improvement in the living standards of the people.  The Prime Minister said the government is not only focusing on mega power and infrastructure projects but also introducing programs to provide better education and healthcare facilities to the people. He said the government plans to construct forty hospitals across the country and ensure provision of portable clean drinking water to the people. Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan has gained the status of emerging economy and it is our utmost effort to provide all possible facilities and incentives to investors. He said economy has been revived over the past three years and efforts are afoot to expand exports. On energy projects, the Prime Minister said the government has launched several coal, LNG, solar and wind based power projects. He said that power loadshedding situation has improved a lot and it will further improve next year. He said 2018 will be the year of elimination of power outages.

Topic 02: PTI, PAT rallies inflicted billion rupees loss: Pervaiz

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek have caused loss worth billion of rupees to the country besides loss of precious lives. Lahore suffered four billion rupees loss in the daily business. He was talking to reporters in Lahore. City District Government of Rawalpindi has incurred an amount of five million rupees on the security arrangements. Suspension of metro service in Rawalpindi Islamabad suffered one million rupees loss. Billions of rupees have been incurred on the police deployment on both the places. Both the parties were asked to arrange their processions at isolated places to avoid the hindrance and problems in the daily life of the people.

Topic 03: Sub-Committee to monitor progress on prosecution of all terror related issues

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has constituted a sub-committee to monitor progress on prosecution of all terror-related cases. The sub-committee to be chaired by Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali will submit its report within two months. The Interior Secretary, all the chief secretaries, Home Secretaries, Prosecutors General and Inspectors General of Police have been notified as members of the sub-committee.

Topic 04: KP APEX committee reviews law, order situation-The committee vowed that the facilitators of heinous crimes will be taken to task and brought to justice

A meeting of Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held in Peshawar on Saturday with Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in the chair. The meeting reviewed over all law and order situation particularly emerged in the wake of yesterday’s terrorist incidents in Mardan and Christian Colony Warsak Road Peshawar.The Committee discussed various measures to materialize the National Action Plan in its true perspective and vowed that the facilitator of heinous crimes will also be taken to task and brought to justice.The meeting was informed that a Special Patrol Unit will be established on the patron of Gilgit Baltistan Police.The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Commandant Frontier Constabulary Liaqat Ali Khan, Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani and others.

Topic 05 : US, China ratify Paris global climate agreement

Both countries together are responsible for 40pc of the world's carbon emissions. The US and China have ratified the Paris global climate agreement. China announced the move as G20 nations gathered for a summit in the city of Hangzhou. The US followed suit after President Barack Obama arrived in China to attend the summit.
