Nation, political leadership, armed forces assure continued support to Kashmiris
Recent unprovoked Indian aggression and repeated ceasefire violations condemned.
The people, the government, the political parties and the armed forces of Pakistan are firmly united in supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination, as guaranteed to them in the UN resolutions.
This resolve was expressed in a joint statement by the leaders of the Political and Parliamentary Parties in a meeting convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday.
It condemned the recent unprovoked Indian aggression and repeated ceasefire violations that pose a threat to regional peace and security.
The political leaders also condemned Indian efforts to shift the focus from its brutal atrocities to suppress the indigenous uprising of the Kashmiri people for liberation from Indian occupation, to false claims of terrorism across the LOC.
Similarly, they rejected the Indian government’s ridiculous claims that Kashmir is an integral part of India, when India itself took the Jammu and Kashmir dispute to the UN Security Council, which accepted it as an international dispute between two sovereign UN members.
The political leadership of Pakistan condemned India’s documented interference in Balochistan to destabilise Pakistan as substantiated by the capture and confession of serving Indian naval officer from RAW, Kulbushan Yadav.
The leaders regretted Indian designs to scuttle all diplomatic efforts for bilateral and multilateral dialogue, including the refusal to engage constructively at the SAARC forum.
They also lamented Indian intent to use water as a weapon against the people, not only of Pakistan but of the region, in flagrant violation of its international treaty obligations. The said any Indian attempts at unilateral revocation of Indus Water Treaty shall be taken as an act of aggression.
The leaders rejected ludicrous Indian claims of carrying out “surgical strike” across the LoC, as blatantly false and brazen attempts at diverting international attention away from its atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
They welcomed decision of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to send a fact-finding mission to Indian occupied Kashmir and support a similar mission announced by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The leadership urged the international community, especially the P5, to take concrete steps for implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people;
They expressed Pakistan’s continued and unwavering support to provide political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for self-determination.
The political leaders recognized that Pakistan is engaged in an unprecedented war against terrorism and violent extremism, reiterated to implement the National Action Plan in letter and spirit.
They expressed the resolve to stand resolute and united in the face of external aggression and all threats to regional peace and security.
