The daily flag lowering ceremony at the Wagah Joint Border near Lahore was held on Monday evening (November 3), as per routine, despite the yesterday's (Sunday, Nov. 2) deadly suicidal attack.

A large number of general public, including women and children, took part in the ceremony with the extra ordinary patriotic zeal and raised slogans like Allah o Akbar, Pakistan Zindabad and Jeevay Pakistan, to send a message of defiance to the terrorists who had planned the attack on the participants, returning from same ceremony in a cowardly manner.

Strict security measures were in place to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion.

On the occasion, talking to media men at Wagah , Lahore Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Naveed Zaman said such coward act of terrorism can’t deter nation’s resolve to combat terrorism.

Director-General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major-General Asim Bajwa says holding of flag lowering ceremony at Wagah Border on Monday with same fervor shows resolve of the nation.

In a message, he said we all stand united to eliminate terrorism.
