Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines have agreed to conduct joint patrols in the Sulu Sea to counter the activities of Islamic State group.

This was stated by Malaysia's Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein while addressing an international security conference in Singapore on Saturday.

He said the three countries will begin joint sea patrols later this month, in the area bounded by Sabah and the southern Philippines, where the militants intend to establish their control.
