15 jail staffers arrested after escape of two prisoners from Karachi Jail
CM Sindh orders inquiry into escape of the prisoners.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has expressed his dismay over escape of two banned outfit prisoners from Central Jail Karachi and suspended the DIG Jail Ashraf Nizamani and area’s SHO.
The Chief Minister was presiding over a high level meeting to review the security arrangements of Central Jails of the province at Chief Minister House in Karachi on Monday.
The Chief Minister summoned the detail inquiry report from IG CTD regarding the incident of escape of two prisoners.
He said that the incident did not take place with the help of jail staff and he will not forgive anyone. He said it is an unusual incident and negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
He directed that the honest and newly trained Police officers by Pakistan Army must be deputed in Central Jails of the province.
Earlier, IG Counter Terrorism Department Sanaullah Abbasi informed the meeting that investigation is underway and fifteen jail personnel including jail Superintendent arrested.
