Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan considers Bahrain a close friend and trusted partner.  

He was talking to Bahrain Commander of the National Guard Lt Gen Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa in Islamabad on Tuesday.   

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan-Bahrain relations are based on shared history, cultural linkages and strong people-to-people contacts.  

He said Pakistani Diaspora in Bahrain acts as a human bridge between the two brotherly countries and has been playing an important role in development and prosperity of both Pakistan and Bahrain.

Nawaz Sharif expressed his deep gratitude to King Hamad of Bahrain for his generous gift of King Hamad Nursing University to Pakistan.    

Commander Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa said Bahrain and Pakistan are brotherly countries and relations between them will further strengthen in economic, trade relations and defence fields.
