Pakistan says it will take all necessary measures to mitigate threat emanating from presence of Daesh in Afghanistan.  In his weekly news briefing in Islamabad , Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria says these measures include effective border control and management.  He pointed out that there are swathes of ungoverned territories in Afghanistan and Daesh and other terrorist outfits are gaining grounds there. The spokesman rejected insinuations of Indian External Affairs Minister against Pakistan and said our sacrifices and losses in the war against terror are unmatched. He said by by leveling baseless allegations, India is trying to hide its own hands in state-sponsored terrorism in Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan wants to have sustained, meaningful and result oriented dialogue with India that addresses all issues particularly the Jammu and Kashmir. Peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Kashmir dispute.

Aqeel Yousafzai (Expert on Afghan Affairs):

Foreign agencies are making efforts to destabilize Afghanistan for the sake of their national interests as unstable Afghanistan is in their interest.  Afghan government itself is facing certain internal challenges. The prevailing instability in Afghanistan is an opportunity to the militant groups to make grounds in Afghanistan. The NATO forces are another reason of instability in Afghanistan as these forces are influencing the decisions of Afghan government.  Peaceful Afghanistan is in best interest of Pakistan and region.

Lt Gen (Retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi (Defense Analyst):

ISIS is the creation of United States and other western countries, and there are many reasons of its creation. Western countries have been influential in the creation of ISIS for number of reasons. First, to engage Muslims against each other and to waste their energy and secondly, an ugly, violent and homicidal face of Islam is presented to the world.  ISIS always seeks suitable places for its activities and in current scenario Afghanistan is the suitable place for this organization to carry out its terror activities.

Brig (Retd) Harris Nawaz (Defense Analyst):

Pakistan has rendered a number of sacrifices in war against terrorism. The coalition forces in Afghanistan are unable to defeat Taliban, whereas Pakistan all alone defeated terrorism without anyone’s support which is a big achievement. Pakistan should also complete the fencing process on Pakistan-Afghan border in order to stop the cross-border movement of the terrorists. The nation is united and will continue to support the security forces in crucial war against terrorism.

China vows to work with Pakistan to carry ahead CPEC projects

China has expressed willingness to work with Pakistan to maintain the momentum of rapid growth of China-Pakistan relations and advance the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In a statement in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang says the new Pakistan’s government would stay committed to maintaining national unity and stability and promoting economic and social development. He also warmly congratulated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on assuming the post of prime minister of Pakistan.

Isphanyar Bhindara (Leader, PML-N):

I would like to admire the Chinese attitude towards Pakistan in current situation. CPEC is the game changer project, that will not only facilitate Pakistan and China, but all other countries in the region as well. There are some external threats to this mega billion rupee-project, but there are also some internal elements, which are working on foreign agenda to sabotage this project.  These elements will remain fail in their mission as Pakistan and China are committed for the security of this project.
