President summons joint session of Parliament on Monday
The joint session will discuss the emerging situation in Yemen
President Mamnoon Hussain has summoned the joint sitting of the parliament on Monday at 11am.
The session has been convened on the advice of the prime minister in order to discuss the emerging situation in Yemen.
The decision to this effect was taken at a high-level consultative meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on the evolving situation in Yemen.
It affirmed that Pakistan's national interest will remain the guiding principle of Pakistan's foreign policy.
The meeting reaffirmed that any violation of Saudi Arabia's territorial integrity will evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
The delegation, which recently concluded visit to Saudi Arabia, apprised the meeting about its talks with the Saudi officials on the issue.
