International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed on Sunday to promote the rights and well-being of special persons in all spheres of society.

The theme of the day of this year is "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient society for all”.

The day is also aimed to increase awareness of the situation of special persons in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in his message on the day said that Punjab government is working on a comprehensive program for the welfare of special persons.

He said that job quota for disabled persons have been increased from two to three percent.
