In China, over half of patients tested with novel coronavirus have recovered and discharged from hospitals indicating that the epidemic control has achieved results.

Talking to newsmen in Beijing, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said a total of 44,462 cases of discharged patients were cured in the country.

Meanwhile, the global death toll from the novel coronavirus topped three thousand.

In the United States, the number of deaths from the novel coronavirus has risen to six in Seattle county of Washington state. 

In France, a third person has died of the new coronavirus.

Portugal, Iceland, Jordan, Tunisia, Armenia, Latvia, Senegal and Andorra also reported their first confirmed cases.
