The Syrian government has dismissed a report by the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons saying that a banned nerve agent sarin was used in an April attack in northern Syria.

In a statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry lashed out at the Organization and said that its investigation has been subjected to political extortion.

More than 90 people had been killed in the April 4 attack on Khan Sheikhoun in Syria's Idlib province.
