Submarine cable system linking Asia, Africa, Europe starts operation
A 25,000-kilometer submarine cable system linking Asia, Africa and Europe has started operations.
The cable system connects Pakistan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece, Italy and France.
The cable system also known as Asia-Africa-Europe-I is the world's largest submarine cable system built in more than a decade.
The project can provide the lowest latency express internet route among dozens of countries and regions across Asia and Europe related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
