In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria says five Indian nationals after completing their sentences were repatriated last month. In contrast, 20 Pakistani civilian prisoners who have completed their sentences still await repatriation, while consular access to 107 Pakistani fishermen and 85 civilian Pakistani prisoners is also pending. Indian humanitarian claims appear contrary to reality in view of the impossible conditional ties imposed for medical visas for Pakistani patients.

A 25,000-kilometer submarine cable system linking Asia, Africa and Europe has started operations. The cable system connects Pakistan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece, Italy and France. The cable system also known as Asia-Africa-Europe-I is the world's largest submarine cable system built in more than a decade.
