Pakistan blind cricket team named for T-20 World Cup

Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) on Wednesday named its team to take part in second World T20 cricket cup being played from January 29 in different cities of India. “Muhammad Jamil will lead the side and Anees Javed is his deputy. The team management include Haib ullah, (manager), Abdul Razzaq (coach), Tahir Mahmood Butt, (trainer) and Ghulam Mohammad Khan, (coordinator). A selection committee comprising Abdul Razzaq, Yousaf Haroon and Tahir Mahmood picked up the team keeping in view the past and present performance of the players. Spokesperson of the board says “Pakistan blind team’s participation in the Cup has been conditioned with the permission of the Pakistan government.

India did not grant visas to Pakistan's junior hockey team for world cup: PHF

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has rejected claims from the International Hockey Federation (FIH) that it had not submitted travel documents for its players by the official deadline. India did not issue Pakistan's junior hockey players the visas that they needed to be able to participate in the tournament. "This version of the FIH is completely baseless as the PHF had submitted visa application forms along with relevant documents pertaining to visa formalities well in time on Oct 24. The No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the government of Pakistan had also been obtained on time but still India did not issue visas to the Pakistani contingent.

Date set for Fighting Alliance 5

Country’s premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion Fighting Alliance (FA) will hold its fifth event on January 27 in Lahore. The FA 5 fight card will have 12 bouts featuring the very best of professional and amateur MMA fighters from all over Pakistan. The Fighting Alliance 4, held on August 27 at Lahore’s WAPDA Stadium, had attracted a large crowd and was deemed a resounding success.

India politicizing cricket: PCB Chairman

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan says India should not politicize the game of cricket. It may be mentioned here that PCB had signed a MoU with BCCI to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023. Four of those series were to be hosted by Pakistan and the six tours pending a legal agreement will include up to 14 Tests, 30 ODIs and 12 Twenty20s.
