IDP's rehabilitation heading in right direction: Observers
Political parties should prefer national interest instead of personal, petty interests
Activities are picking up momentum throughout the country in connection with celebrations of the Independence Day.
National Flag is fluttering atop important public and private buildings as well as homes, shops and transport.
Meanwhile, government’s efforts for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons of North Waziristan are heading in right direction and achieving their desired objectives.
Speaking in Nuqta-e-Nazar programme of Radio Pakistan, Member National Assembly from PML-N Talal Chaudary said: “First of all, we should feel the importance of Pakistan’s Independence Day. At the moment, Pakistan Army is fighting a war against terrorism. Pakistan Army will be successful in its ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan. The entire nation is ready to render every sacrifice for sovereignty of country. Political parties should give importance to national interest instead of personal interests.”
Taking part in the programme, PML-N’s MNA Raja Javed Ikhlas said: “Lively nations celebrate their Independence Day with zeal and fervor. Entire nation should demonstrate unity on the Day of Independence to raise the morale of Pakistan Army in its war against terrorism. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif achieved the trust of people of Balochistan by setting up government of local people in the province. We are happy that nation is united on country’s issues. Political parties should work jointly to strengthen the democracy.”
Defence analyst Lt. Gen Amjad Shoaib in his comments said: “Pakistan Army has rendered numerous sacrificed in war against terrorism. The nation should express unity for celebrating the Independence Day.”
Speaking in the programme, Senior Journalist Sabir Shakir said: “Government has decided to celebrate Independence Day with national zeal and fervor after a very long time. Preparations to celebrate Independence Day in a befitting manner are gaining momentum. At this time, national interests should be preferred over personal differences. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should call All Parties Conference for holding talks with leaders of various political parties including Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Winding up the debate, analyst Prof. Ghulam Mustafa said: “IDPs faced a lot of problems during initial phase of operation Zarb-e-Azb but we have seen that government has managed to overcome these issues and it provided all necessary facilities to IDPs. Operation may continue for more than 90 days. Afghan government is not capable to stop cross-border movement of terrorists. Pakistan government should take steps to stop such movements of terrorists.”
