Ch Nisar vows to strengthen Pak-UK ties
British National Security Advisor separately calls on Interior Minister and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan says Pakistan has adopted a holistic regional approach by following a non-partisan policy in Afghanistan as well as improving relations with India.
During a meeting with British National Security Advisor, Sir Kim Darroch in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said Pakistan and Afghanistan have to work together with the support of international community for ensuring peace and stability in post-2014 Afghanistan.
Talking about Pakistan-UK relations, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the government is committed to further strengthening them in all fields.
Sir Darroch said the British government is committed to providing more support to Pakistan, in all fields particularly in countering terrorism. He said Pakistan and the UK have similar priorities with regard to Afghanistan.
British National Security Adviser Kim Darroch and Chief of Defence Staff General Nicholas Houghton called on Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Matters of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation and measures contributing towards regional stability were discussed.
British Chief of Defence Staff General Sir Nicholas Houghton also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood in Rawalpindi.
Regional security and cooperation between the two armed forces were featured during the meeting.
