A new digital medium wave 100 kilowatt transmitter of Radio Pakistan Dera Ismail Khan became operational today (Wednesday).

This modern transmitter replaced old 10 kilowatt medium wave transmitter.

The launch of the state-of-the-art transmitter would enable Radio Pakistan D.I. Khan to reach out to the entire province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Frontier Regions with special focus on North and South Waziristan.

The total cost of the project is 341 million rupees. It has been completed with the financial assistance of the United States.
