German Ambassador to Islamabad Dr. Cyrill Nunn says Pakistan and India should boost their bilateral trade and economic relations for the common good of the two peoples.

In an interview, he said it would lay a foundation to tackle difficult issues like Kashmir through dialogue.

He said enhancing people-to-people contacts and political exchanges would also help improve relations between the two neighbouring countries.

The German envoy said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's recent visit to India was an excellent first step to engage Narendra Modi's government.

He said during their one on one meeting the two Prime Ministers agreed to initiate the Foreign Secretary level talks to resolve all outstanding issues.

To a question, the German envoy said the European Union is ready to provide all out support to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue and bring Pakistan and India closest to each other.
