Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed provincial chief ministers to pass on the benefits of currency stabilization and reduced cost of imports to the people.

He issued the directives in a letter to the Chief Ministers after reduction in petroleum prices as a result of appreciation of Pak Rupee vis-à-vis dollar, marking a decrease by five percent in import costs.

The Prime Minister said it is high time to pass on benefits of cheaper imports and cheaper cost of transportation to the citizens.

He said the people also expect reduction in fares of urban and inter-city transport.
