Palestinians rejects an Israeli proposal about talks
A senior Palestinian official said Israel is pursuing a policy of blackmail.
The Palestinians have rejected an Israeli proposal to extend current peace talks beyond 29th April.
A senior Palestinian official in Ramallah said Israel is pursuing a policy of blackmail.
He said Palestine will not discuss a possible extension of peace talks unless Palestinian prisoners are released by Israel.
Israel has refused to release the detainees without first securing a Palestinian commitment to continue talks beyond April 29.
Meanwhile , US secretary of state, John Kerry , has returned to the Middle East to try to salvage peace talks between Palestine and Israel.
Kerry held talks with the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Jerusalem and is expected to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Tuesday.
