Pak, Iran agree to strengthen parliamentary linkages

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to strengthen parliamentary linkages and exploit potential for enhancing the economic cooperation to further cement the bilateral relations. 

The agreement came at a meeting between Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani and Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost in Islamabad on Friday.

The Senate Chairman expressed concern over Taftan border closure and called for opening of the border for trade.

The ambassador assured his all-out cooperation for opening the border for border trade as early as possible.

The Chairman Senate said Pakistan and Iran have always cooperated with each other at the international forums and have adopted a unified stance on different issues. 

He said the recent years have witnessed enhanced cooperation in defence and security areas.

Iranian Ambassador stressed for further boosting bilateral cooperation in different sectors through enhanced interaction.
